The site is being redeveloped to a high-rise mixed-use scheme by Willmott Dixon Housing. Historically utilized as the former yard and record production areas of the wider EMI Factory, the site contained significant in-ground structures associated with a tank farm with free-product contamination identified within Taplow Gravels (a Principal Aquifer). Made ground locally contained asbestos containing materials, and well as a plating chemicals hotspots and other localised sources of hydrocarbon contamination.
Soilfix designed and implemented a multi-disciplinary remediation scheme with engineered development platform in accordance with a Materials Management Plan (MMP) developed fully in accordance with CL:AIRE Code of Practice (CoP). Works carried out including:
Soil / groundwater verification testing and reporting was carried out to achieve regulatory signoff. Stringent health, safety & environmental controls were implemented to meet the client’s high expectations – as a result the Soilfix Site Manager was awarded a ‘Green Card’ for exemplary standards achieved.
