The Challenge
The 5.5Ha site at Gloucester Quays lies within an area of Gloucester currently undergoing extensive regeneration following over 100 years of industrial use. Fuel and oil depots in particular were the prominent feature of the area throughout the twentieth century, with other industrial uses including a local railway network, motor services, waste operations and grain store. In addition, parcels of the site are located within a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and as a consequence the remedial works were conducted alongside extensive archaeological excavations and controls.
Our Solution
Soilfix designed and delivered the following remedial solutions to address in-ground contamination & obstructions present:
Soilfix successfully completed site works ahead of programme and with no lost time accidents, facilitating the ongoing urban regeneration of this key area of Gloucester.
Of a total 90,000m3 generated, 99% materials re-use was achieved.
