Our Main Services

Soil & Groundwater Remediation

Soilfix can take your remediation project from identification of the remedial requirement through to completion and final verification. Remediation of soil and groundwater is carried out using the most practical and appropriate technique that is only applied once we have fully understood our clients’ objectives.

Decommissioning, Decontamination & Demolition

These works are often intrinsically linked to remediation. Soilfix can complete such works as part of a remediation contract where program/cost savings can be achieved through effective phasing, re-use of materials and managing pollution risks.

Specialist Enabling Works

Soilfix can combine specialist enabling works with remediation to provide a ‘one-stop’ package as Principal Contractor.  This adds considerable value and reduces project risks such as health & safety (with one contractor on site), costs, programming / sequencing issues and preventing cross-contamination.

Client Support & Regulatory Signoff

Soilfix is committed to building long term relationships by always meeting our clients’ objectives and expectations. Once appointed, Soilfix keeps clients fully updated and responds rapidly to any changes in scope and program.

Health & Safety

Accredited to BS EN ISO18001, Health and Safety is our primary concern for any project and we understand that this is paramount to our clients. Soilfix prides itself on having an exemplary safety record with no prosecutions or enforcement actions.

Environment & Sustainability

Accredited to BS EN ISO14001, environmental management and sustainability lie at the heart of what we do in remediation and materials re-use.  Soilfix prides itself on having an exemplary environmental record with no prosecutions or enforcement actions.

Technical Appraisals

Presenting remedial options and associated costs in a clear no nonsense format enables our clients to make informed decisions on the best way forward for remediation. Soilfix will clearly identify risk areas and can either take these on within our contract or, leave with our clients once they are able to make a fully informed decision. Soilfix also offer shared risk / reward packages tailored to meet our clients’ needs.

At the early stages of a project, we routinely carry out technical appraisals and remedial options studies for our clients to support either the pre-acquisition / divesture process or to understanding potential environmental liabilities. This provides clients with a clear understanding of potential remediation costs, data gaps / uncertainties and likely constraints requiring consideration.

Due Diligence Support

Soilfix routinely advises clients and its consultants at the pre-acquisition / liability management stage of projects to identify potential requirements (and costs) to manage risks or liabilities on brownfield sites.

Recommendations are given on additional site information requirements that would assist all parties to better conceptualise the site and understand risks – this can benefit the client with significant cost savings down the line, and / or fewer surprises following completion of the brownfield site acquisition.

Waste Management

Even with the removal of landfill tax exemptions, a significant portion of most remediation projects still requires the effective management of waste soil. Soilfix can review the waste soil implications on your site and implement pre-treatment or re-use strategies that can result in significant savings on project costs.

Soilfix routinely carries out remediation projects fully in accordance with CL:AIRE Code of Practice to achieve more sustainable and cost-effective re-use of materials. Clear lines of evidence demonstrate that this document has been complied to ensure such materials are deemed ‘non-waste’. Clients therefore have peace of mind that their sites are not in breach of current waste management legislation and a best-practice approach has been taken to materials management.

Specialist support to consultants

Remedial technologies and Pilot trials
Remedial Technologies & Pilot Trials

Soilfix routinely assists consultants at the remedial options appraisals stage of a project to identify technically, commercially and logistically viable solutions that are worth further consideration to meet specific remedial objectives. This support is most effective at the remedial strategy / design phase, where Soilfix advise whether risk-based remedial objectives are viable on technical, logistical and commercial grounds.

Budgetary cost appraisals
Budgetary Cost Appraisals

Soilfix provides assistance to numerous consultants at the pre-acquisition due diligence / remedial options appraisal stage to provide practical and realistic budgetary cost appraisals using existing site information. Recommendations are given on additional site information requirements that would assist all parties to better conceptualise the site and understand risks. This can benefit the client with significant cost savings down the line, and / or fewer surprises following completion of the brownfield site acquisition.

Remedial strategy support
Remedial Strategy Support

Soilfix routinely supports consultants to develop a remediation strategy that is both technically, commercially and logistically viable to meet site specific requirements. The remedial strategy does not only need to satisfy contamination risk drivers identified in the Conceptual Site Model, but also taking into account various other factors such as geotechnical / development platform considerations, overlap with exiting / future site operations and client-specific priorities.
