Soilfix were delighted to be involved in a robust materials-management based remediation and site enabling works package to redevelop the site on behalf of PSA Retail UK Limited.
The works, carried out in conjunction with CBRE and MCS Construction, involved the following:
- Remediation and processing of existing stockpiles, containing both licensed and non-licensed asbestos containing materials.
- Break out, excavation and removal of concrete slab and below ground obstructions ~2m bgl.
- Reduce the quantity of asbestos in made ground and processed concrete to ‘trace’ levels to facilitate the future phases of the works.
- Re-engineer the fill material to form a suitable construction platform for the ongoing development.
- Monitor and manage the works to minimise Soilfix’s environmental impact to nearby receptors.
