Soilfix carried out an Earthworks Training Day earlier this week, which was well attended by many of our Project Managers and Remediation Engineers.
Earthworks are an integral element of many of our projects.
Getting earthworks right requires a good understanding of material classification, compaction theory and testing, as well as practical delivery and good practices.
We covered many different topics during the day with a range of speakers. Our Remediation Engineer Samuel Laliberte prepared and delivered a great presentation on surcharging as an example of static compaction, which was well received and stimulated many questions and discussions.
Our Project Manager Dan Mortimer-Simons MRICS delivered a useful session on volumetrics and materials balances, including some great exercises and questions to test and develop our 3D thinking!
Our next technical training day is already planned and will be on Regulatory Aspects of Remediation.
