Formed in 1957, the National Association of Rocketry (NAF), is the world’s oldest and largest sport rocketry organisation.
Our Director, Steve Jackson’s 17-year-old son Charlie, has qualified for the UK Rocketry Association (UKRA) Junior Team, who are joining the Seniors for the first time in 20 years!
With the United Kingdom national team competing in the 2023 World Space Modelling Championships in Austin, Texas this coming week (2-8 July), Soilfix are proudly supporting the team by supplying fifteen ‘Team UK’ soft shells with support from our safety clothing supplier Contego Safety Solutions Ltd who have generously covered the printing costs.
This demonstrates Soilfix’s commitment to advancing future careers in Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) – Charlie plans to study Aeronautical Engineering at University and pursue a career in rocket propulsion (not remediation!).
The Juniors tried on their soft-shell jackets just in time for filming by the BBC to feature on our local news program ‘Look East’ (as opposed to look up with the model rockets!)
