Earthworks at Temple Woods Development

Earthworks, Remediation

Our site remediation, enabling, and ground improvement works being carried out for Redrow Homes South-East are nearing completion at a 4.5Ha former timber & waste yard near Rochester, Kent.

The Soilfix Drone took these fantastic images of the last stage of earthworks in progress to construct the final ‘surcharge cell’ for comprehensive treatment of geotechnically poor ground using 20,000m3 of materials previously processed by Soilfix.

This ground improvement is the culmination of collaborative working between Soilfix, Redrow and their consultants IDOM Merebrook and Coffey Geotechnics.

Surcharging has been accelerated in certain key areas using band drains installed using specialist equipment. These final stages of ground improvement have been carried out in parallel with ongoing groundworks to construct 130 new dwellings on Phase 3 of Redrow’s stunning Temple Woods Development.

Once all surcharging work has been completed, the processed soils will be stabilised for re-use as a sub-capping fill to required development formation levels under a Deposit for Recovery (DfR) permit issued by the Environment Agency.
