New Project – Former Ford Dagenham Plant to Social Housing, London

Brownfield Regeneration, Remediation

Soilfix is delighted to be working with Hill Partnerships, delivering enabling earthworks to support infrastructure construction at its flagship Dagehnam Green scheme.

Hill is working in Partnership with Peabody to develop Ford’s iconic 45-acre former stamping plant in East London, which gained fame through the historic equal pay strikes depicted in the film “Made in Dagenham”.

The site was once a key part of the powerhouse of East End industry where nearly 11 million Ford cars were manufactured, and Phase 1 of the regeneration is very much underway to deliver more than 3,500 new homes (~50% designated for affordable tenures), Secondary School, Commercial / Retail space and a 5-acre urban park.

Having previously provided extensive Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), delivering investigation works for Hill, Soilfix will initially carry out cut & fill reprofiling, soil processing / treatment and re-engineering to form the development platform for both the School and Energy centre areas.

Treatability trials are also planned to produce more sustainable ‘bespoke’ blends of subsoil and topsoil to meet the site’s significant future landscaping requirements.
