Soilfix are delighted to have provided their annual charitable donation to FareShare SouthWest, following a vote of shortlisted local charities by all of our staff.
Helen Abrams and Kelly Shears both had the pleasure of visiting FareShare at their Food Depot, to present our annual donation of £2,500. Soilfix decided after the Pandemic in 2021 to provide a charitable donation each Christmas as a more sustainable and socially responsible alternative to providing hampers to our clients, consultants & supply-chain partners.
We kept up our tradition of handing over the obligatory extra-large ‘Charity Check’ handover, and both had a quick tour of their local warehouse, which gave us a real insight into the incredible work they do to help the local community. We were incredibly grateful for their time in what must be such a busy period leading in to the Xmas break.
The team at FareShare South West were incredibly grateful and shared some great news – Soilfix’s donation was partially matched during the Big Christmas Challenge incentive period, bringing the total value to £3,535!
This means our contribution will help provide food for 14,140 meals this winter. These meals will reach children who usually rely on free school meals, people experiencing homelessness, older individuals at risk of loneliness, and those struggling with mental health challenges.
For those receiving support, a meal is often more than just food – it can be a symbol of care for someone who feels isolated, a vital first step out of poverty for those hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis, and a connection to a network of hope.
