George is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for the upgrade of Marlwood School’s existing netball and tennis courts into a multisport facility.
The last 18 months have been tough for everyone, but one thing that has really helped George is being active and taking part in sports, and in particular, running.
In conjunction with the school and local sporting groups, the Friends of Marlwood School (FOMS) has come up with a plan to upgrade its aging tennis and netball courts to a multisport facility to help children get much more out of their school sports. In the longer term, George is hopeful the new facilities will inspire children and the wider community to be more active and take part in sports for years to come.
George is aiming to raise £2500 to help kickstart FOMS’ fundraising efforts for the courts.
This is his only second marathon (and first London Marathon), but he is really excited to be able to do something he loves and support Marlwood School at the same time.
