Soilfix are pleased to launch their brand-new Mental Health & Well-being Policy today, Friday, 10th October to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
Why is World Mental Health Day Important?
- 776,000 workers experienced work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2023 / 24 (HSE)
- Stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 46% of work-related ill health and 55% of all working days lost due to ill health in 2023 / 24 (HSE)
- The main work factors cited as causing work-related stress, depression or anxiety include demands of the job, lack of control, lack of information and support, work relationships, roles, and responsibilities.
Soilfix are committed to creating a safe, supportive, inclusive workplace and this new policy outlines how they will promote mental and physical wellbeing across the business, reduce stigma around mental health, and ensure that all employees feel supported, respected, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.
Key highlights include of the new policy include:
- Access to Mental Health First Aiders and Wellbeing Champions
- Support through our Employee Assistance Programme (Paycare) and other resources
- Training and awareness initiatives for all staff
- A proactive approach to identifying and managing stress and wellbeing risks
Mates in Mind have produced a really helpful ‘Spotting the Signs’ poster, that has been recreated for display in Soilfix Offices and operational sites.
