Soilfix are pleased to be working with Delta-Simons to supply and help Soilfix implement its Carbon Calculator – this is the starting point of our journey to benchmark our carbon emissions as a business and set meaningful (but achievable) targets towards achieving ‘Net Zero’.
Whilst land remediation has its ‘dirty’ aspects (in particular the use of gasoil powered plant, even modern, well maintained, and with lower emissions), we have an opportunity to calculate the carbon ‘off-set’ we achieve as a business through diversion of wastes from landfill, reduced HGV movements and quarried aggregate/subsoil import as we seek to manage materials on-site as much as practicable.
We are already discussing with our supply chain hire of hybrid plant in the near future, and look forward to the age of “fully rechargeable” plant at Soilfix, but in the meantime, we look forward to establishing our baseline carbon footprint and the off-setting we can / do achieve.
